Our capabilities and people

Noggin's team of project managers, business analysts, training professionals, software developers and system administrators are highly skilled, have a deep knowledge of our products and a breadth of experience across many different business areas and technologies.

Noggin's project managers each have between 10 and 20 years of project experience, and have experienced with methodologies such as PRINCE2 and PMBOK. Some are certified Project Management Professionals (PMP) via the Project Management Institute

Our key implementation support staff have special expertise in emergency management including hands-on involvement in various major emergencies, and experience developing policy and procedures to support incident and emergency management.

Other critical staff members have security clearance to Secret (sponsored by the Attorney-General's Department, Australian Security Vetting Service), and strong expertise in all aspects of information and software security.

Our senior management team

James BW, Managing Director

James is a communication expert in political and social communication. He has a Government Honours degree from the University of Sydney and also studied law at the University of NSW. He was a graduate of the prestigious Australian Federation of Advertising (AFA) Traineeship programme, worked for John Singleton Advertising and Singleton, Ogilvy and Mather, Noggin Advertising, and has a wealth of experience in running large communications campaigns and systems. He has developed strategy for communications campaigns for many large social and political groups, as well as a host ASX500 companies and blue chip multi-nationals. At Noggin, James is responsible for business development, account management and administration.

Owen Prime, Chief Technology Officer

Owen has been a Director of Noggin since 2000 and has been designing, implementing, and consulting on online applications for Government and private industry since then. He has been responsible for the technical direction of Noggin in that time, and leads a team of over 15 programmers. He is chief architect of the core infrastructure for all of Noggin products. More recently, he has been focusing efforts on Noggin's suite of OCA products. He holds a BSC in Computer and Statistical Science and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance from Securities Institute of Australia.

As the senior technology contact, Owen works with clients to refine the business requirements and build and validate the underlying system architecture to be implemented.

Charlie Forsyth, General Manager (Projects & Services)

Charlie has been working as Group Account Director and General Manager with Noggin since 2007. In that time he has been responsible for client relationship management and service delivery across all of Noggin's enterprise clients, and other major corporate and government clients in several countries across the Asia-Pacific region. He is currently responsible for project and service delivery and product development across the company. He has over 15 years experience in ICT, including senior positions in project and program management in large and complex organisations.

He has studied Arts, Business and Technology at the University of Sydney and University of New South Wales and project management at the Australian Institute of Management, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and member of the Project Management Institute. Before working at Noggin Charlie worked as Web Services Manager for the University of Sydney, Project Manager (e-business) in the Major Projects Group, and as an IT Manager and Project Manager at various corporations and software developers.

Travers Carter, Senior Systems Manager

Travers has been a Director of Noggin since 2000 and is responsible for Noggin's infrastructure development. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science & Information Technology) from Macquarie University and has contributed to the Linux kernel, PHP, MySQL and several other open source projects. He has broad technical experience and in his time with Noggin has done groundbreaking work on multilingual architecture for localisation of user interface & data, replication architecture for an APAC-wide distributed business application, and security architecture for Noggin's critical infrastructure system. He is central to the development of Noggin core infrastructure libraries and infrastructure deployment. He is also responsible for all of Noggin's third party support, managing approximately 100 servers around the APAC region.
